I’ve been reading comics since late 2006/early 2007, on the heels of Marvel’s Civil War, which launched Punisher War Journal (easily one of my all-time favorite comics) and put Iron Man in an interesting place shortly after I gained interest in the character and comics. Punisher and Invincible Iron Man are still my two favorite titles and characters.

Here are my favorite creators and the books that make me love them:

-Matt Fraction (Invincible Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men)

-Warren Ellis (Astonishing X-Men, newuniversal, Supergod)

-Jeph Loeb (Hulk)

-Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Ultimate Comics: Avengers)

-Brian Bendis (Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, Spider-Woman)

Kick-Ass/Hulk/Spider-Man

by J4K3 at 11:03 PM on March 23, 2008 23:03

Well its that time again.. COMICS COMING IN TOMORROW!

As is tradition, I’ve got to comment on some older stuff.

Kick-Ass #1 simply blew me away! Action, comedy, irony, and plenty of fowl language. Top this off with Romita’s art and we’ve got me nomination for best new series of the year!

The “delays” in Hulk almost tempted me to drop the series before issue 2, but I waited and read issue two (as I’m sure I’ve already noted below) and was too impressed to drop the book. I’ll say it again: OH. THE. HUMANITY.

How about we go back in time? I’ve recently begun collecting Todd McFarlane’s SPIDER-MAN series. I don’t have all 15 issues (16 including #15, which was not done by McFarlane), but I have the first issue (silver cover), issues 2-3, 8-12, and 16. So I’m off to a good start, no?

‘Nuff said!
