Doing a Google search for “didn’t like the Dark Knight,” I see that I am not alone in being disappointed. But, based on the media and the box office, I get the feeling that nearly everyone thinks that this is the greatest movie ever. Oh, well. The same thing happened with Titanic.
There were parts about the movie I really liked. Dent and Gordon were great. The movie was really about them, as far as I’m concerned, since they had the real character arcs. Rachel was much better than in the previous movie. Maggie really pulled it off. I don’t like the super grim Joker and Batman. To be honest, Batman himself was kind of dull and hapless.
I keep updating this, because I keep thinking about this movie. There were many good parts, but they just didn’t hold together for me. I think this or that, but when I was in the theater, I didn’t enjoy myself and I left disappointed. Ultimately, I’m ok with a somewhat dark Batman movie, but I want it to be fun.
