I’m from Kansas.
Favorite things: Family, friends, beagles and Jayhawks. Oh, and comics too!
Rock Chalk!
What has happened to my favorite franchise???
I’ve given this ‘Red Hulk’ thing the benefit of the doubt. With each issue I continue to roll my eyes in agony as I read it, thinking maybe it will get better. Sorry, Marvel, this thing is convulsing in a very disappointing way.
Planet Hulk was probably the best story ever for my green friend, followed by a World War Hulk that was almost as good. Both of these stories, written by Greg Pak, were as good as it gets.
Enter ‘Red Hulk’, written by Jeph Loeb. This story is just crawling along at a snails pace, with bad dialogue to boot. Hopefully, something will actually happen in the next few issues. I’ll hold my breath a little while longer.
If you couldn’t get enough of the Planet Hulk story, try Skaar: Son of Hulk, where Greg Pak continues the story of Sakaar. Maybe Hulk will learn his son is alive and join him on Sakaar where they BOTH belong. What a story that would be. Hmmm.
Wow. Very disapointing.
I love Frank Frazetta’s artwork, but this stuff is just total crap. Every time you turn a page it’s like Groundhog Day. It’s the same stuff over and over and over…same colors, same lame cast of characters, blah, blah, blah.
Don’t waste your money here if you’re looking for interesting story line. The only reason I give it two stars at all is because the cover art is awesome.
When I first saw that Marvel was going to release this European comic in English I wondered … why?
The title sounds as though it’s aimed at pre-teen females. Hmmmmm … NOT the case! The theme throughout is quite strange, yet, somewhat amusing. Religion, narcisism, self gratification and sexual references (even a sexually explicit scene) all bound together in a sci-fi-ish overtone.
The art is very good, fresh and quite original.
If you want a change of pace from all the Super-Hero stuff … give this one a shot. (With an open mind, of course.)
Anyway, Sky Doll was actually an enjoyable read for me. It will be interesting to see if Marvel continues the story of Sky Doll. I hope so.
This is really good stuff. A great new super hero who’s basically clueless to the fact. He’s controlled by three nerds in a control room who can activate and de-activate him at will. Original premise, fantastic art and color make this one of the best I’ve read in a long time. You’ve got to check this out.
