grew up in Canada and matured to a sweet ripeness in Brazil. I now live with my wife in Kelowna, BC. I’ve always been a huge X-Men fan. I started to loose the faith around 2000 when the editors at Marvel kept fucking around the those books. I pretty much stopped reading all comics because of that. It wasn’t until later, when the dust had settled that I discovered books like “The Dark Knight Returns” – which was published while I was in diapers, and some other classics. I heard the reviews on Millar’s Ultimate X-Men and on Morrison’s New X-Men and I started reading my X-books again. Today, I’m in the mortgage business, as well as a part-time music producer & DJ. I try to read everything Mark Millar writes. I’ve recently been caught up in Bendis’ Secret Invasion and am hugely involved in getting caught up on Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead”. My wife is into the old McFarlane’s Spawn so I’ve given her those and Ultimate X-Men to keep her occupied and help her perfect her english.
I read all the hardcovers up to Issue 48. Now it’s really hard to wait for the next issue every month but at least it’s coming out regularly. I end up reading them more than once each which is okay. Kirkman Rules!
Millar is taking this book in 4 great directions at once. He’s really keeping up my anticipation for the next issue like he did with Ultimates.
word. I thought this would be better and I’m really thinking about dropping it and picking up the X-Men Legacy/Wolverine Origins crossover
This book is friggin’ awesome! This is the X-Men how they always should have been. Professor X is a pussy.
It kind of shocked me a bit to find out Millar & Hitch were going to be taking over this title. I haven’t really liked The FF since ..um ever. I did like the reprints I read of the Lee/Kirby FF but I was on drugs at the time. Needless to say that the team of Millar & Hitch produced probably one of the BEST comics of all time with Ultimates & Ultimates 2. It still seemed strange that they would take on a title with such integrity and a thick history within the Marvel Universe. I’ve picked up every issue since they started the run though, and it’s interesting enough to keep reading. These guys could probably pick up any mediocre title and make it worth while. I’m enjoying this book.
