Mini-feature
Very useful for me, maybe useful for you… if you have a Diamond Code (this is the code that our primary distributor Diamond Comics uses to refer to comics, graphic novels, etc and looks something like APR084084), you can drop it in the search box and, if it’s in our system, we’ll return the item it’s attached to.
Is there any other kind of data you wish you could search on?
I’ve wanted to comment on this for a while now because I had a request. First, searching with the Diamond code is pretty cool, and I know it’ll serve me at one point in the future. The one tiny thing I have wanted to be able to do in regards to searches on HI is to be able to “turn off” the intelligent search. You know how it’s trying to find words that are similar to what you typed. I took so long before commenting here because I was trying to find that one example where I typed on very specific word and ended up having to sift through quite a few pages of wrong results. Not sure I’m clear enough. Let me know if you need more explanation…
Yup, I know what you’re saying. In theory, the closest matches should be up top (ie if a word in the title matches, that’s weighted more than a word in the description; also, if a word is an exact match that should be ranked higher as well). Improving search is on our list of things we want to do… if you remember the specific term, or find any others where search sucks, they’d be great to have as test cases when we’re trying to improve.
