Dan says:

And here’s a review.

Dan says:

btw, here’s something i’m looking forward to.

Jason says:

Pete? Is this you, too? Man, you are really everywhere in comics!

Todd Michael R. says:

False.

Todd Michael R. says:

God. I miss the way you smell at night.

FrogMan says:

oops, meant RMfM there, not EMfM

FrogMan says:

about EMfM, that’s cool. You sure did get my interest up and made me check other reviews for it. I think I will definitely want to check the trade when it’s collected…

Pete said:

Gah! I was nearly certain you were subscribed to RMfM, should have checked before asking….

FrogMan says:

gah, you are teasing me here, this is not nice! :p

I didn’t have RMfM on my pull list and now I’m seriously thinking about it. I wavered about getting it or not, the superhero side of things might make me want to get it even more now. I do like superhero things. :)

Pete said:

Oh, and did you read Red Mass for Mars #1? If so, what did you think, after the long wait? I thought it was pretty good, despite more of a superhero angle than I was expecting…

FrogMan says: re: HoM#2, hrm, from the solicit text for #5 out on Comics Continuum:
Part 5 of “Room and Boredom.” In the extremely destructive conclusion to the first story arc, Fig Keele has literally brought down the House, but couldn’t she have waited until everyone got out alive first?

a five part arc, might be tempted to let it go the way and then kick it, then I might kick it after next issue. We’ll see…

Pete said:

Re: House of Mystery #2, I’m with you on the substories, though I though this one was a bit better than the first one. I think I’ll give it one more go and then drop it if it doesn’t kick it up a notch…

FrogMan says:

hey Pete, have you had a chance to read House of Mystery #2?

Just read it and I’m torn about it. I wanna know what’s going to happen with the lady in the main story, who’s the voice and all that, but the story within the story, well, I thought it was frankly quite boring… I’ll ponder a bit…

ohwowitsbecca says:

Jesus with a ponytail and Jesus with a haircut look very similar at first glance.

Pete said:

Gosh! I thought I had put my “looks a bit like Jesus” days behind me when I cut off my hair…

ohwowitsbecca says:

Pete, random thing that just occurred to me… When I see your avatar out of the corner of my eye (such as when I’m reading your posts), it looks a lot like the Jesus Mii on my Wii. And it too me a really long time to figure out what was so familiar about it, because when viewing it directly, it doesn’t look like that at all.

Just thought I’d share.

Robert says:

Would Heavy Ink be getting any more stock for Neozoic #2 soon? I just started the series (months after everyone else started) and I can’t read my #3 copy until I read #2. :)

FrogMan says: first thoughts about House of Mystery #1, repost from my mini-blog:
Just finished reading it and I’m left feeling a bit, “huh?”. Had not really realized it will be set as two parters like that and I’m not so sure I like that. I guess I’ll see in the next issue or two if I want to stay with it or not but for now it’s not off to a “I need a new issue RIGHT NOW” kind of start.
daynah says:

Thanks for letting me know personally! I did in fact change it. :) It’s like my local comic book store is… in my bed. ...

Pete said:

Red Mass for Mars #3 is now available for order from our site, if you want to tweak your subscription… (didn’t you ask about that? couldn’t remember where though…)

-b. says:

Hi Pete, just a quick question on my re-subscribing to comics here at HeavyInk… There are quite a few back issues that I’m getting. How will that work? Will they ship relatively soon if they are in stock? I was hoping that would be the case so that I can get caught up on the titles.

pat514 says:

Wow man, can’t believe Red Mars for Mass is doing so well. Do you think you guys will be getting more stock for issues 2 and 3?

Chris says:
daynah says:

Ugm. Every time I’m on heavyink, it’s while I’m at work, at school, on ancient versions of browsers. So all websites, including heavyink, do really crazy things. With the photo, it was making it a square. But not all the time. Only when the stars aligned juuust right.

daynah says:

It had a lot more to it than I wrote. Like weird stuff… I always wore like a 50’s perfect housewife dress and an apron with a heart top and a lace trim.. .even though it was moden day. I dusted the comics with a feather duster. I had a ladder hanging from the wall that had a sign on it that said, “Only for cute comic book store owners.” And I wore super red lipstick. That was what woke me up, ‘cause I don’t wear red lipstick. Aah, fun dreams.

Pete said:

Nice to have more comic book stories, even in dream form.

when kids came in they all had good parents

I could have believed the rest of it, but this part is clearly dream territory…

Robert says:

I have been noticing recently that my login email wasn’t working. When I finally got into my account settings, I noticed that I must have originally mistyped my email address. Everything is right now. Thanks for letting me know.

Pete said:

Hey Robert, your order confirmation email bounced... wanna double check that your email address is correct? Thanks!
-b. says: Pete, TJIC referred me to you regarding a question I had with my recent order of an Invincible TPB. Hopefully he forwarded a copy of the email to you. If not, or if you have any questions, just shoot me an email. Thanks. -b.
Todd Michael R. says: css sorcery battle!
Todd Michael R. says: re: I posted part of a comic book script I wrote in the I AM A WRITER thread...go enjoy the sh*t out of it.
castewar says: (applause) Nice work on the review corralling - I approve. And I haven't run into any problems thus far.
Todd Michael R. says: Maybe you're just magic, have you thought about this?
Todd Michael R. says: Oh cool, thanks! Lemme go accidentally destroy everything now... I like the big messy forum, it's more of a community...
Todd Michael R. says: Hey Pete, I started two threads entitled: IAM A WRITER, and I AM AN ARTIST..I don't imagine they'll be filling up until more people discover this wonderful site, but if you want, you could put them both in their own forum or whatever. I don't really know where we're gonna go with ...but it seems like a cool way to maybe hook some creators up together. I'm willing to moderate if you guys need it. and Thanks again for the site!
Todd Michael R. says: Gentleman, good job. I'm VERY interested to see how this'll turn out. -mE!
Edward says: Hey you, I noticed you were quite the active Admin on the forums looking for technical problems. Here is one... I can't post on the forums. No button to post shows up on my screen. I just get the words "or cancel," with cancel being a hyperlink.
nzc says: Pete, your avatar thingee is awesomely excellent.
Tyler says: You forgot "frisbee-tosser" in your tag line. ...Actually thats sounds kind of derogatory.
Pete says: Thanks, everyone!
Comics Monkey says: Looking great!
Matt says: Nice work Pete!
nzc says: Nice job, indeed.
TJIC says: As an engineer, Pete can do the impossible. Awesome website, Pete!

Improvements

by Pete at 04:09 PM

Two recent improvements should smooth out some wrinkles:

1. There used to be an problem when we were shipping comics where we’d print out your invoices, start packing stuff up, but you could still click “cancel” on an issue. Of course, by that point the cancel wouldn’t have the expected result, ‘cause the comics were as good as shipped. That’s been fixed up, there’s a new status that reads “shipping”, and these items can no longer be cancelled. Of course, you can still cancel right up to the moment that we press the “print invoices” button.

2. We’ve been running short on some popular comics. This has happened most with series that start off with luke warm reception, but then get more popular. We’ve made some tweaks so that we’re more aggressive about ordering during certain parts of a comic’s life cycle. We have all sorts of cool stuff planned to help us get better at predicting demand, but this is a start.
