Angel: After The Fall Vol. 1 [ link ]

Excellent follow up to the TV series. I recently watched the entire Angel series on DVD and found myself wanting more. My friend told me that After the Fall was a “Whedon” approved continuation of the series. I thought that the characters were handled well. The art style worked well for this type of comic. This first volume collects the first five issues of the series and begins to answer some questions left over from the show and asks some new ones. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that without the backstory of the show, a new reader would be a little lost. Definetly a must have for fans of Angel and all together cool read for fans of comics.

If you like JMS, you’ll most likely enjoy this GN. I am only 50/50 on JMS, so I thought the story was – meh-. I thought what really set this book apart was the art by Shane Davis. I would give the art 5 stars and the story 3 stars and overall 4 stars.
