Heh...

So… it’s not thinking anymore. My Taehl did the site for me, and it’s actually a real user friendly behind-the-scenes thing, so… I guess I’m doin it. Shoot me now. Utterly stupid, mostly just something to amuse the people I know more than anything (and to prove that I can, like I said) but I’m proud. ^^

could be signing my own death warrant here...

So… I’m thinking of starting my own webcomic. It wouldn’t be awesome, it wouldn’t have any real storyline to begin with (I want to prove to myself that I can consistently draw the same people in a reasonable amount of time first), and it probably won’t be in color often as I’m dealing with dial-up and don’t feel like waiting for the uploads of anything bigger than necessary.

But odd or silly quotes and situations from my and my friends/family’s lives sketched and probably inked out in 1-4 panel strips is what I’ll be going for until I can come up with a basic storyline or badger a friend into writing for me. I’d try to update it about once a week to begin with, more often as I get more comfortable. I’ll be trying to get it launched by next month, but I need to teach myself html and figure out how to work a website first. x~x;;

But as I read about 80 of them, and a lot of people ask me if I do or have ever thought of running my own… I figger it’s worth a shot, and I can always kill it if I’m not up to it after a few months. I know a few free hosting places, so…
Wish me luck?

Or convince me not to?

Heheh...

Y’know, it’s days like this when I reeeally feel like a dork. I’ve come back to check my blurbs, the forums, and to browse the selection here at HI at LEAST 10 times today.
Even though I have them all on the RSS feed, which shows up on my homepage.

Add on repeated returns to facebook to check if anyone’s challenged me to a new game of Snake or scrambler and to see if anyone’s down anything on the human pets sub-community…
AND the other forum I frequent, even though i KNOW almost nobody’s ever on Sundays.

All after my 6 hours at work this morning, and around supper and playing Guitar Hero 2 and DDR Extreme on the PS2 with my little sister in the basement.

I have NO life.
And now you all know it. :$

Oops.

Translator Programs

... are extremely amusing.
For these reasons.

“The dogs will get muddy out there” becomes “犬は外で覆われた泥になります。” becomes “the dog becomes the mud that was covered outside.” becomes ” le chien devient la boue qui a été couverte dehors” becomes “The dog becomes mud, which was covered outside.” becomes “Το σκυλί γίνεται λάσπη, η οποία καλύφθηκε έξω” becomes “The dog was made mud, which was covered outside.” becomes “개는 밖에 덮은 진흙에게 제작되었다,” becomes “The dog has been produced outside a mud covered.”

And this is how I waste my time… Another!

“I cant think of a way for a cheese grater to be involved in a game that would end well.” becomes “EGO non validus reor of a via parumper caseus memor ut exsisto involved in a venatus ut would terminus puteus.” becomes “I not mighty to think of a road for a short time cheese mindful when to emerge to wrap upon a game when would a boundary mark well.”

Gotta love latin, eh? Arighty, I’m done.
For now.

Sorta. Every time someone says, “I don’y believe in ninjas,” a ninja kills them with a grapefruit spoon.

We could test it. - Ninjas are elite. - Things become elite by being in limited quantities - If we say “I don’t believe in ninjas” and that does work, eventually we’ll get all of them.

I like your comic. It’s simple and you aren’t being clichéd. Keep it up and don’t try to overwork yourself (the number 2 cause of death of webcomics, just behind the number one cause, shiney objects).

FYI, the people sitting at the desks in the Pi comic look like they’re not wearing any pants. :)

I meant, we can read snippets of your blog posts on the frontpage, but the blog isn’t showing on your profile page for some reason. Maybe you have it for friends only. That way, I read about a webcomic on the snippet, but it cuts off before I get a link. Quite a teaser… :D

so I keep reading tiny blog posts on the front page, stuff about a webcomic and I come here and nothing to read, that’s not nice, not nice at all :p

I wanna see that webcomic!!! ;)

wanted to ask you if you’d mind me using your line about preferring a good word processor to human company

Sure! As long as you don’t misquote me. It’s “text editor”, not “word processor”. ;)

Hey! I think a webcomic is a great idea… but, especially in such a small format… the writing is incredibly important. Maybe you should figure out what or who or even just a theme you’d be writing about.

Indeed. What RSS reader are you using? Google Reader is rather great if you haven’t tried it yet.

I did delete it… Blast you for using RSS. I forget why I did, but… Yep.

I’m still around!

Busy busy busy writing!

The art’s about par for what I’d expect. The story isn’t as cliche as you’d think. The characters are likable. Basically, I am going to go thru and get the rest of them. The only thing I DIDN’T like was that the artist puts a page or three of recap at each new chapter… but as that’s nothing new, really, I cant complain.

Aright, I’m a complete head-over-heels fan of her novels, so maybe I’m biased… But I’m in love with this series. Yah, there are definite… differences… in the way things are described vs. portrayed in art, and I’ve only read the first 6 issues in GN form. But the story is so far true to the book, mostly, and it’s pretty awesome.

Short, but ‘sweet’. Utterly blasphemous, so if you’re a strict religious Christian DON’T pick it up without a WIDE open mind. Definitely worth it, tho.
