Second half of this two parter, first kicking off in New Avengers Annual, pits Simon Willams (Wonder Man) and his Revengers aganist The Avenger. In addition to a great story, art/colors, and action…was the reunion between Beast and Wonder Man. These two friends have faced better times, the dialogue left me sadden that Hank may have understood Simon’s logic for blaming The Avengers for doing more bad than good. Simon blames his old teammates for Scarlett Witch’s downward spirl into the dark side, also feel the mightiest of the Avengers cover up their mistakes, use violence when the Big 3 don’t get their way. I never been a fan of Wonder Man until this issue. I admit, he raises issues once brought up by the Hulk after he returned from Planet Hulk, of holding the Avengers accountable for their actions. After the dust has settled, one Avenger ask why The Revengers would follow Simon, some of the answers make these bad guys seem less evil than they appeared to be…it was nice to see Century return to the mix after the break up of Force Works. Simon’s final plea to Hank to promise to reveal the truth and the explaination of why Simon was even brought back to existence by the Scarlet Witch is storytelling at its best. Let’s see if any of this ties into the Avengers vs. X-men event this summer.
