What has happened to my favorite franchise???

I’ve given this ‘Red Hulk’ thing the benefit of the doubt. With each issue I continue to roll my eyes in agony as I read it, thinking maybe it will get better. Sorry, Marvel, this thing is convulsing in a very disappointing way.

Planet Hulk was probably the best story ever for my green friend, followed by a World War Hulk that was almost as good. Both of these stories, written by Greg Pak, were as good as it gets.

Enter ‘Red Hulk’, written by Jeph Loeb. This story is just crawling along at a snails pace, with bad dialogue to boot. Hopefully, something will actually happen in the next few issues. I’ll hold my breath a little while longer.

If you couldn’t get enough of the Planet Hulk story, try Skaar: Son of Hulk, where Greg Pak continues the story of Sakaar. Maybe Hulk will learn his son is alive and join him on Sakaar where they BOTH belong. What a story that would be. Hmmm.

I’m really sad, this book has the potential to be absolutely amazing. But it just isn’t. I’m really sick of the Hulk being a bumbling idiot… what happened to the Hulk from the last few years?!

Who thought it was a good idea to just make shit up as they went? That’s what this book feels like, someone just thought it would be cool to have a bunch of Gamma powered goliaths beat the snot out of each other.

If you have extra money at the end of the month you could pick up this book, but I wouldn’t, not unless it takes a turn for the better.
