Finished Titles that are Awesome

This List is by...

RobertS

This lists's score:

Bullet_arrow_up Bullet_arrow_down 3 pts.

What is this list?

Some stories are good when they are ongoing, there’s a reason we have endings. It’s nice to know that when you start the title, that it has an end somewhere which means resolution. I think it’s a very smart and humble move when a writer has a set storyline instead of trying to force the series to go longer than it should.

So without further ado:

    Bone One
    RobertS says:

Once again, Bone takes the number one spot. I can’t say it enough, this is the best comic collection out there. Bone never disappoints; when you turn the last page, you’ll be doing it with a smile on your face.

  • 4.
    Irredeemable Ant Man
    RobertS says:

At two trades length, it seems too short when you finish. When I turned the last page, I was thinking “No more Irredeemable Ant-Man?” IAM is such a great character to follow you wish Kirkman had kept going.

At the same time I’m reminded of that Seinfeld episode where George left the room once he made a really funny joke so people will remembering him leaving on a high note. So it’s probably better this way. More IAM hijinks in Avengers: The Initiative, but he’s only a minor character there.

  • 3.
    Sandman
    RobertS says:

Sandman is a masterpiece. Plain and simple.

  • 2.
    Transmetropolitan
    RobertS says:

I know some people think the politics and the plot points are kind of hokey in Transmetropolitan, but I really like this series. It’s very mature, but very good.

Some people can’t write an ending to save their lives, but Transmetropolitan has the best written ending out of everything I’ve ever read.

    Preacher
    RobertS says:

It starts off a little on the slow side, but it makes up for that with a massive amount of character development as it picks up speed. Jesse Custer’s goal is to hold God accountable for his actions; you can’t get more epic than that. Out of the whole 9 trades in this series, there was only ONE issue that I thought was bad (Preacher Special: The Good Old Boys). For a series this long, that is a tremendous achievement.
