What is this list?

This list is really how I got into comics, back I believe in the summer of 2006.

    Absolute Batman Hush
    Pat1337 says:

This is the kind of Batman I grew up on! It has all the best from Gotham’s Rogue gallery and new characters as well.

Jim Lee’s art is jaw dropping on this book and really something that needs to be seen oversized.

  • 4.
    Daredevil Legends Vol. 1 Yellow
    Pat1337 says:

I really thought Daredevil was the dumbest hero in comics before this, having only seen the terribly bad Daredevil movie.

This book totally changed my opinion of “the man without fear”. This is really a great introduction to the character, explaining everything up to Brian Bendis’s arc.

The style of this books is very simliar to Tim Sale’s water color work ala The Long halloween, if you loved the art there you will LOVE this book.

    Identity Crisis
    Pat1337 says:

Definitely NOT a good place to get into everything that was going on in the DC Universe.

I bought this after hearing how great it was, and at first I couldn’t get passed the fact that I had absolutely no idea what was going on and who alot of these characters were. I went back recently and not only did I get through it, its one of my favorite crossover events!

After buying this I realized that DC Comics are really completely seperate from the movies or cartoons.

Also that one should definitely NOT try reading a DC crossover event without knowing everything that has gone on prior to it.

    Hulk Planet Hulk
    Pat1337 says:

This was a FANTASTIC introduction to Marvel comics. I loved that it really was a self contained story telling you everything you needed to know right from the get go.

Plus there was an AMAZING battle in this, not saying who against who, but it’s amazing and it’s oversized….go buy this right now!

    Wanted
    Pat1337 says:

This was the first comic I ever bought, recommended by one of the store’s owners. My opinion of comics after reading this graphic novel was that….I really hated them.

The characters in this book were laughable. I definitely could not stand the protaginst who looks exactly like Eminem, and another like Halley Berry in Catwoman, and then a gay Tommy Lee Jones playing a cold blooded assassin….WHAT THE HELL?!?

Anyway for my first comic, this was a horrible one. I’ve gone back to this a few weeks ago and after reading some of Millar’s other work, it’s not that bad.

Wanted…yeah, I got to agree with you it was not my favorite Millar piece. Have you ever read his Ultimates 1 and 2? I enjoyed that a lot.
