This says that the release is not until Nov. 19th. I am not sure if that is for this site or what, but while browsing the small comic area of a local book store I got a copy of this, and it is amazing. Nice hard cover with dust jacket, faux leather cover with gold pressed title.

The content is really great too. Just finished reading the Dark Tower, and loved it. This series lives up to the name. Amazing art by Jae Lee and the coloring is great. The writing, is also very good, some changes to the original story of Magis, but still very compelling.

A real must read for 'Constant Readers', and comic fans alike.
[NOTE: The release dates on items are those that are supplied by the distributor...and, sadly, these are incorrect more often than we would like. If you can find this via one comic book shop, then we can almost certainly order it and ship it ASAP.]

I picked mine up at chapters about a week ago, simply amazing artwork. Story seems to have had a bit removed but nothing that I would say hurts it.

A must buy book.

Now as somebody who hasn’t read Stephen Kings Dark Tower books, I can’t really say anything about how true the adaptation is to the source material. I can however tell you that this comic is HOT.

First of all the Jae Lee’s artwork in this comic is absolutely stunning. His style is described as gothic in the notes on the inside cover and I think that’s fairly accurate. It also fits perfectly with the universe that King has created. The coloring in this book is especially amazing and the pages really come to life. If you decide to get Gunslinger Born, do get the hardcover, because this book is beautiful and you will want it to stay that way.

The plot is also top notch. Never have I wanted to pick up a Stephen King novel more than after reading this series. Deep, engaging, dark, and brutal are words that I would describe this book. Marvel really pulled this one off amazingly well. It really sucks you in to the universe that King created and I don’t want it to let go!

Guess I’m going to have to go to the library and see if I can snag some of the King books (because you know I’m going to spend all my money buying the comics).

It has been brought to my attention that the individual issues contain segments that explain some of the Lore of the Dark Tower universe, and after seeing them I can say that this is a pretty cool feature. Since the HC collection leaves this information out, there is something to be said for getting the individual issues as well.
