HeavyInk is MOVING! Just a few feet, but still, there’s been a lot of work (and beer) involved, and there’s still some HeavyLifting to do. I took a bunch of pics of the new place, and some of the old, that I’ll be posting for the curious or bored, as time allows. |

FYI… That orange shirted fellow looking scraggly and disheveled is my clone. I’m sticking by that story… Otherwise, some might think that’s evidence of me drinking on the job. (To be fair… It was 11:00pm at that point.) The other fellow there is a networking guru and good friend of mine. He was an honorary HeavyInker for the weekend. |

Some hallway decor. The xeroxed article dates from the turn of the century and describes what I think is the only police fatality in the history of the town (the building we’re in used to be a police station, as other pics will make obvious). |

Looking out at the inner door to the former HIHQ. Alas, our new digs, though gloriously spacious, are not so Zombie-proof. |

Also out in the hallway: the door to what I’m told was the ladies’ drunk tank. I didn’t realize there was some old photography in there until the flash went off! |

Back to sweet suite 100: we’ve got a phone booth (insert Superman joke here). |

Brian and Tyler re-assembling the HeavyInk AI rack. I’m told all aspects of the HIAI personality engine came back up without a hitch. There’s more, all equally exciting, but other stuff beckons. I’ll try to put ‘em up tomorrow, and maybe take some dog pics, too. |

Pretty neat with the police station stuff. I also see you guys keep fairly well caffeinated what with the two 24 packs of Dew in that first picture. Keep us updated with the pics Dan. |

That’s Red Bull to the right of the Dew. And still stacked on top of the fridge were many cases of Diet Coke. In the pic looking out the inner door of HI’s former HQ, you can see a giant pile of empty cans of “Engineer Fuel”. |

She’s not an employee – and she did do some work anyway. More than me! |

In my experience, this is a bad thing. How do we know that the HIAI won’t go rogue and start sending me Archie comics? |

HeavyInk is MOVING! Just a few feet, but still, there’s been a lot of work (and beer) involved Re-cabling / heavylifting and beer ALWAYS go well together! I like the digs. That’s a lot of space. The cells still being nearby, for when the zombocalypse hits, is really a coup. The ghetto rack, towers, dangle™ cable management system, and Linksys WRT54G are a nice touch. ;) |

If you think that’s ghetto you should have seen the old setup. The new thing is diamond wrapped in golden caviar comparatively. |

You don’t know the half of it. There are two diesel generators in the basement, and you can switch the ENTIRE FREAKING BUILDING over to them by hitting a single button. Now, I’m not going to go on record as saying that I pushed that button “just to see what would happen”. ...but I can say that about six months ago, the building switched off of town electricity, fired up its generators, and then switched back ten minutes later. (Don’t tell the landlord). |
