Shipping glitch this week

Hi folks, you may notice that your upcoming shipments for this week are missing some items that should be scheduled to ship… they’ll be shipping out this week as well, just in a different shipping run. Sorry for any confusion this causes!

I was getting ready to report some oddities to you… :)

Oh okay. Cool. I was a little confused and a little disappointed when I saw that the Boys wasn’t in my shipment. Delays are a part of life, it’s all cool.

hey Pete, just saw that a new run of shipment seems to have been done today. Only two odd ones remaining today and both are probably easily explainable.First, Dynamo 5 Annual for which I might have place my order a bit late and all issues were accounted for. The other is Hercules #1 and last we talked it was kind of unclear when you’d receive some, I assume you didn’t receive any yet…

Was A Dummy’s Guide to Danger: Lost at Sea #2 delayed? It said it should be shipping on May 7th, but it’s the only title that hasn’t shipped yet and the book is listed as “expected soon”.

Dynamo 5 Annual… Hercules #1…

Yup, we shipped out all our copies of Dynamo 5 Annual, but have more on order.

Still no Hercules #1… if they don’t show up next week, we’ll need to pick an alternate strategy, I think…

Well, we were charged for copies but none actually arrived… we’ll be on the phone with Diamond later today to try to get this sorted out.

Things are running a little late this week.. we have a new UPS driver, who seems to operate on different schedule… but we’re cranking away!

Did you ever get the Dummy’s Guide to Danger: Lost at Sea #2 problem with Diamond sorted out?

I think hercules and caliber are sold out everywhere, radical/diamond dropped the ball on that one.

So I had a shipment go out last Wednesday (05/07/08), and I haven’t received it yet. I had a second shipment go out Thursday (05/08/08) (after I decided to order some extra books), and I got that one on Monday (05/12/08).

Is my delay in receiving the first shipment because of this shipping problem, or am I just impatient? ( I saw that the standard shipping can take between 2-9 days, and sometimes longer; it’s just that I got one shipment already, but not the other.)

Is it typical for one shipment to be delayed while another takes only 3 business days to arrive, or again is this due to the shipping problem from last Wednesday?

I think their shipping glitch was more that they couldn’t pull everything they were supposed to ship on the same day. For example, they issued two shipment numbers for me last Wednesday, and then a third one on Thursday that had two more issues that I fully expected to see in the first two shipments from the day before…

As for having a shipment being slow and another one being fast, yeah, I’ve seen it happen. Sometimes they will ship on Monday, usually for back issues they have in stock and that I ordered over the weekend. I think of 3 shipments they did like that, 2 of them arrived later than the shipments that left the following Wednesday…

Slightly more detailed – We ship out books 2 different ways when free, First Class USPS for small and Bound Printed Materials for larger packages. Bound Printed takes a few days longer to ship and can be leapfrogged by some smaller shipments.

But I appreciate the answer, and it is nice to understand how you send out the shipments. It makes a lot of sense that my first shipment would take longer, since it WAS a bigger shipment, and I would expect it to be sent via Bound Printed Materials. The second was very small (two books) and looks as if it was shipped First Class.

Thanks again for the quick answer! I think what everyone has been saying about how awesome you guys are really IS true after all.

First off, I’ve no complaints about shipping. I live in West Virginia, and I generally get shipments weekly on Tuesday, sometimes Monday (and once on a Saturday, which was a nice surprise). Would shipping times, in your opinion, be faster if I switched to the UPS shipping option?

just out of curiosity, whats the cutoff for first class?
