I did it...

With my final unemployment check arriving this weekend, and my full time job starting tomorrow, I finally added some subscriptions to HeavyInk. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to come up with a pretty long list, as usual. Not as long as I used to have, but still. A decent list.

Here’s to getting comics in the mail again!

oh, sweet! Good for you Brian. Nine years ago, almost to this day, I ended a 5 months run on the unemployed list, starting the job I still do today. Hopefully, this one here is only one step toward your perfect job.

Thanks, FM. And I hope you don’t mind, but I took a look at your list and took some titles from that. Once I started adding titles, it got far too easy to add more. :) That’s how I got up to 63 titles last time. Just kept adding.

This time I’m being more discerning. I feel I’ve matured in my reading, and I’m not just getting sucked into the usual stuff just because it’s the usual stuff.

why would I mind? it’s there for the taking, I mean, it’s one of the beauties of HeavyInk, and I’ve inspired myself a whole lot of other people’s list. I’m sure at some point, I’ll visit your profile page and will something new on your list that I’d never thought of reading and I’ll go “huh, what’s that?” and might sign up for it.

I’m still not up to the discerning part myself, and I know at some point I will have to make decisions, for now, it’s just too much fun… :)

Hey Brian, AMAZING subscription list man!

I’ve been on the edge about whether picking up trinity, but man I think I might just have to. Batman Detective has been great by the way, If your looking for a good place to start, I would say go to I think its 843(the 1st part of the zatanna arc), though I’m assuming you’ve probably been able to catch up on the detective books, man the last issue was great!

I love Johnathan Hickman’s books as well, hell I love all the books on your list. I’ve been loving Hickman’s work especially because they are so densely packed and it definitely has enough material for multiple rereads, easily worth the cover price in my opinion( and no ads! god I hate them).

The Twelve also has been great, even though there is a slight lead in time, you can definitely see the time bomb just about to go off in the coming issues.

I would love to hear what you though of Infinite Horizon, though I’m not a big fan of war stories or anything of the like, I heard it has a great twist and has been featured on g4’s fresh ink a few times.

Anyways, I could go on, but I’m psyched to hear you are getting books again, and damn good ones at that!

PS: Green Lantern has been really good right now, they are currently doing a origins arc and it’s really been phenominal! I put up a review of Green Lantern #30, I really want to be reviewing each issue coming out, ah well see how that goes.

Haha. I know. Actually, the good thing about this job is that it is 5:30am to 3:30pm, 4 days a week. And I do most of my comic reading at night anyway. So I should be able to get caught up in about a week or so.
