We will be using it for all manner of things—early notice of interviews going up, contest info, updates on when hot titles are in stock, and maybe even detailed descriptions of what I eat for lunch! That ALONE is worth the price of admission (which is free).

Twitter is a social networking-type thing, like HI or Facebook or MySpace, except it’s much easier.

You set up a Twitter account, then you “follow” your friends, family, whomever. (And Heavyink of course!)

When they post updates, which can only be 140 characters, you get them, and when you post yours, whoever’s following you gets them too.

It’s sorta becoming this big extended conversation between friends and acquaintances, and a lot of comics professionals are out there Twittering, like Warren Ellis and Brian Reed for starters. It’s fun and free. Sign yourself up:

Twitter is basically a new blogging/social networking service implemented entirely through those witty away messages you used to leave-up in college.

I understand what Twitter is, but I’m an old fart who doesn’t understand why Twitter is.

Yeah, I’m one of those over-30 folks who wouldn’t even be alive in a Logan’s Run type of world.

(When you turn 30, the crystal in your hand turns red, and also your Twitter account is de-activated).

TJIC, I didn’t get at first either. That’s the normal responce to twitter: “whyyy”

You just have to start using it and then you become inexplicably addicted. They probably just have figured out some sort of hypnotic color that happens to be pale blue… There is NO logical reason.

Matt, tell Twitter to turn off the background. I’m seeing the twitter background image… and then the red around it. Both are pretty on their own but not together.

I was surprised how many people read mine. I started one originally to keep a running update of my work progress like “2 pages left to ink” ~~- and I was pretty suprised how if I post something like “looking for a job” -~~ how soon I get replies or messages from people.
