I really wanted to like this book but as a jumping on point for me I had issues for the book. The writing is not exactly what I was searching for out of a comic book, it felt extremely corny and strangely out of place for me. The art was fine in most respects but I just feel like it lacks variety and the overexaggerated characters throw me off. I want to point out I have no connection to Savage Dragon before this issue and wanted to read it based on Ron Richard’s recommendation from Ifanboy’s podcast. The book had some decent parts but overall I was vastly underwhelmed. I did buy the next 3 issues because I never like to judge a comic on one issue but sadly they did not help to fix any of my issues with #145. I will say the positives for me is the Dragon characters, he is likeable and I like his relationship with his children. Everytime I had to see Dragon just fight random monster after random monster though, it just becomes a tiresome repetition.
