Customer Reviews
This isn’t a bad start for a movie prequel. This first issue pretty much sets up the conflict between the Jumpers and Paladins and gives you a good taste of how dark the setting is. It doesn’t matter who or how old a Jumper is, the ability they have is viewed dangerous enough to ignore that. And you get to taste the morality of that very nicely as we follow a young Paladin on her first assignment and get a taste of how hard you need to be to get the job done. It’s done in such a way as you can almost agree with them. This first issue is solely on the Paladin’s point of view.
The quality of storytelling is pretty high. Everything flows quite nicely and is well-written. The art is nice and the brown pallet adds to the bleakness of the setting, giving it an almost washed out look. When you see things of vibrancy, it adds significance.
Overall, this issue is very good and a nicely sets up the rest. Fans of the movie wanting a bit of history, this promises to satisfy. Those who weren’t interested in the movie might change their tune after reading this.
